For this dress, I wanted to create something that showed off many aspects of a traditional solo dress: crystals, embroidery, matallics, and light and dark colors. I've always thought that dresses that include something recognizable stand out more on stage. Some of these dresses include flowers or animal prints. I decided to decorate the middle and skirt with metallic silver embroidered leaves. I really wanted them to pop out, so I chose royal blue for the background. I also chose blue because it is the national color of Ireland (hence the title). I wanted to have another color that stood out against the blue, so I chose white. I find white to actually be a really bright color that makes the dancer wearing it look tidy and well put together.
